Voice Configuration

The Voice tab in the Chat Customization menu allows you to enable Text-to-Speech (TTS) capabilities for your chat. By turning on this feature, your chat will audibly read out the text responses to the user, providing a more accessible and engaging conversational experience.

To access these settings, navigate to the Chat builder and click the "Customize" button on the left side of the page to open the Chat Customization form. Then, select the Voice tab.

Voice Settings

1. Enable Voice

Check this box to activate the text-to-speech feature. Once enabled, the chat will automatically speak the chatbot's messages aloud.

2. Voice type

Use this dropdown menu to select the specific voice profile you want the chatbot to use. Voices are typically categorized by name and language locale (e.g., "Isabella (it-IT)" for Italian). The available options depend on the text-to-speech engines supported by the user's browser or device.

3. Show all languages

By default, the Voice type dropdown may be filtered to show voices matching your chat's primary language. Check the Show all languages box to override this filter and display the complete list of all supported voice profiles across all languages.

4. Sample text

This text area allows you to type in a test phrase (such as "Testing voice") to preview how the selected voice will sound.

5. Talk Button

After entering text into the Sample text field and selecting a Voice type, click the Talk button (indicated by a speaker icon). The system will momentarily generate the audio and read the sample text out loud. You can use this tool to experiment with different voices until you find the perfect fit for your bot's persona.

Note: Remember to click the Update button at the bottom left of the modal to save your new Voice settings.
